I know what you've all been dying to know for the last 6 months...Who was the unsuspecting date of the legendary padded shoe outing? You guessed it-I'm the man. Now, months later, I'm unsure whether to burn or enshrine those shoes for accompanying us our first date. I mean, maybe they have special powers that brought us together.

On the other hand, maybe it was the "accidental" (we'll call it that, anyway) lip to ear contact while whispering before the show that began the chain of events. One thing is for sure, any shrine with those legendary flats would

have to be in a vacuum-sealed container.


Before stepping off of memory lane, let's make a quick stop near the beginning, just for perspective: 

The day: 26 August 2010. 
The location: Just outside the apartments of girls that recently moved in. 
Setting: Just after sunset. I was passing out new ward member information sheets and trying to retain a name or two along the way.

As we went from one apartment to the next, I was thinking that I wouldn't remember a single person. Approaching the next door, a walking box was coming the other direction. A hand emerged from behind the cardboard and pulled open the door. We followed the box into her apartment and offered a hand. The beautiful face that emerged, quickly changed my mind and memory capacity.We went out to the car and helped move a couple of extra boxes into the apartment. Because of the Argentine pictures, my buddy began rambling off in Spanish, questioning where she had served, etc. I offered a few forgettable followup questions, and bid farewell, knowing it wouldn't be our last meeting. Nearly 10 months later, we're engaged to be married just one day shy of a year from our first introduction.
