He had a good (long) first day full of orientation shananigins. He's only taking one course (thus the early summer start), which is anatomy, so naturally they got right to the point and cut open a dead body. When he got home later in the evening he asked if he smelled funny. I almost gagged realizing why he asked me. DEAD BODIES. I immediately plugged in an air freshener in the entry way for future use. Later that evening, as we were eating dinner, he asked, sheepishly, "Wanna know what parts we dissected today?" It goes without saying that we waited until MUCH later in the evening to pull out his anatomy text book. He proceeded to show me where they cut and which flaps they opened. I'm glad someone likes this stuff!
We think it will be a good, but very demanding year (but it's to be expected, I guess!) We got sad when it really set in just how little time we will be spending with each other, but then we know it will all be worth it in the end.
As for me, I start work at my uncle's clinic tomorrow. I'll have Mondays off through the summer, so today I continued to go through boxes and hang pictures up. I got the spare bedroom all ready so that when all ya'll come to visit, you have a place to sleep. Andddddddd I ventured to Walmart. Naturally. Tomorrow we start another day of med school, and for the first time, we'll see how it all meshes with my job in nearby Corvallis. I hope to blog more, since my other options involve being near cows. I will at least keep you all informed about my Tyler sightings. Think Big Foot, only smaller.
Until soon...
