It's a Mormon World

I realized today just how full the world is of Mormons. No matter where one goes (for example, to the boonies of Oregon), one always manages to find them. When we came to Lebanon, we knew they would be here. After all, we had met a BYU student already who was going to be in Tyler's med school class. On top of that, when Tyler interviewed, he was told there were 15 LDS students in the first class. But I didn't realize I would be surrounded. Now that Tyler has started, he has discovered two additional LDS guys. According to Facebook (the all-knowing source), there are a six more students in the new class from Utah. One can only speculate. After feeling like Lebanon was turning into the next Idaho, I was watching So You Think You Can Dance on the internet while Tyler was studying, and as they did auditions in Dallas, Texas, naturally a Mormon mom auditioned. Her segment was complete with a visit to her home where a picture of the SLC temple hung on the wall behind her. And, if that doesn't put your Mormon radar in a frenzy, a lady at the clinic today said her son was in Argentina, in Resistencia. I asked her why, and she said it was for a mission. I then told her I had met his mission president at Iguazu Falls! She said what I have been feeling all day, "It's a small world!" Well, it's a small Mormon world, at least.

In other news, I worked my first day at my aunt and uncle's chiropractic clinic. It is ironic to anyone else that as my husband begins medical school, I am getting measured for scrubs?

Also in other news, now that we live in Oregon, I have EASYYYYYY access to Umpqua Dairy Ice Cream again! I may or may not have bought Umpqua Dairy Chocolate Peanutbutter yesterday.
And just for kicks, here is a picture of Tyler's anatomy course buddies:
The kid on the very left is from BYU. He was also born in Roseburg. Does the world get any smaller? The girl in the green shirt and black pants in the front has a husband who is a butcher. And the girl in the black sweater and blue shirt on the right is due in September. As in  she will have a baby the first month of medical school. That doesn't seem complicated or anything. And the boy in the blue shirt, third from the left, is the craziest of them all.

But what's the story to prove he's crazy? HMMM?!

I long for good ice cream. It's all I can do to not splurge on Tillamook twice a week. :)

Thanks for the picture. I am glad to see what the butcher's wife looks like. I really like the crazy guy in the blue shirt :)
