Movies According to Me, Myself, and I

So, I am quite the avid Cinima attender. After all, what else is there to do in Roseburg? Ok, so you can bowl. But bowling can only last for SO long (unless of course you bowl alongside a group of drunk old men. Then it's quite interesting...) Anway, since I do find myself at the movie theater quite often, I thought I would share my short opinions on what to see, what to forget, and what you might not want to pay $7 to see now, but maybe later on down the road at Hollywood. Here we go:

"Batman Begins:"

I went into this movie skeptical. I am never one for comic book stories. I don't really think that "Fantastic Four" movie looks quite appealing. So when I decided to go see Batman Begins with my family, I was expecting a film that takes place mostly in dark places, consists of a cliche storyline, and fills the two hours with a bunch of fight scenes. However, I was so pleasantly suprised, plus more. The movie actually has a decent story. It tells us what we always wanted to know: How "Batman Begins." Going into the movie, I expected lame and ridiculous villians (maybe it had something to do with Jim Carrey...) but the villians were regular people with no special powers, just technology. So, I guess you could say it made the whole scenario a little more believable (if, you know, there could ever be a man who dresses up as a bat to save Roseburg.) During the movie I never felt bored or found myself looking at my watch. It was entertaining. It wasn't a "WOW" movie or an Oscar movie by any means, but it is definitely a good summer blockbuster, go-to-the-movie-to-kill-time movie. Bottom Line: It has my two thumbs up. In the theater or at home, "Batman Begins" will satisfy even the whole family. My mom really enjoyed it. So take the Rents and go save Gotham.

"Betwitched:"

This was a "cute" movie, but not one that I'm dying to see again. I really like Will Farell, but I don't think this was one of his better movies. I thought they could have done a little better on this film. Nicole Kidman was kind of bugging me throughout the movie. I realized that she is quite similar in many of her films. She's somewhat of a static actor sometimes, and her performance didn't leave me feeling any different. I thought Will Farell has been funnier before. I suppose it may have been a better film for me if I had been an avid fan of the original Bewitched series, but I've really only seen a couple of episodes. So I thought the film was, like I said, "cute." It's a fun girls-night-out movie: Light, safe - and everyone wishes they could have the powers that Kidman has in the film. So one can easily live through her life for two hours. I must give props for the nose wiggle. Afterwards, I tried forever to copy Kidman, but alas, all I did was end up looking like I have some nervous twitch. Bottom Line: Go see it if you are a Bewitched fan or have nothing better to do. It would produce just the same effect if you rented it.

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith:"

Oh, I'm about to so fall asleep right now, so this entry shall be continued tomorrow, beginning with the Smiths. (Isn't Brad just gorgeous!?!?!) Ok. Toodaloo.

Falling asleep? Jessica it was 8 o'clock! sheesh...Well, I have to agree with you. I think you should give Batman more credit though because he does pretty good pushups :D I have yet to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but Bewitched was not very good. I will have to go see a bad movie with you sometime, or maybe go bowling, whatever you feel like. :)

Oh, it was SO 8:05...way later than you think. Haha. Actually, I think it was leftover from a late Fourth of July and having to wake up at 5:00 a.m. the next morning for work. Yuck, huh? Yes, Batman is good. I thought I did give it good decent credit, didn't I? I really liked it. And Christian Bale isn't too hard on the eyes, either. :)And yes, Bewitched was not much of a winner. Ok, well we definitely need to hang out. I feel myself becoming a blueberry--I think I need some sort of a social life! :) I'll try and come to the opening of Fantastic Four. Even though I'm not a huge fan of comic book stuff, maybe it will be another Batman Begins movie...
